Ukulele groups from throughout the region will gather for the second annual Warner Ukulele Festival Saturday, October 17, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the MainStreet Warner Stage & Amphitheater for an afternoon of family-friendly music.
The festival will kick off with a free beginners workshop (ukuleles provided) at 11 a.m. on the patio at MainStreet BookEnds. Also at 11, individual performers will be featured on the main stage as a warmup to the main event.
Group performances will run from noon to 4 p.m., with each group performing for 20 minutes. Groups scheduled to perform include The Contookuleles, Seacoast Ukulele Players, El Trio Demers & Friends, Southern New Hampshire Ukulele Group, Ukulele Songsters, Havenwood/Heritage Heights Ukulele Group, and the duo Lindsay Wolf and Jo Grubman.
Other activities include a ukulele “petting zoo” for the uke-curious of all ages and a raffle featuring many ukuleles and uke-related items, including four chances to win a ukulele and a set of four beginner lessons offered at a mutually agreeable date in Warner.
The Warner Ukulele Festival is part of the MainStreet Warner Summer Concert Series. Admission is free, but donations are welcome and will benefit MainStreet Warner, Inc.
