On June 21, 2017 MainStreet Warner, Inc. received the Merit Award for Excellence in Planning, Design, and Development from Plan NH, for their creation of the Jim Mitchell Community Park and Amphitheater in downtown Warner.
Working closely with Pellettieri Associates of Warner for design and construction over the last nine years, a slope-challenged, underutilized open area has been converted to a multi-use open park, complete with a post-and-beam stage and amphitheater providing a full schedule of free events to the public, featuring local musicians, artists, and theater. Also recognized were Peter Ladd, Robert Shoemaker, and Charlie Betz, the designers and primary builders of the stage.Utilizing solar energy and a rain-water collection irrigation system, the park continues to grow to meet the needs and interests of the community. Their newest project involves the creation of an edible landscape, raised garden beds and outdoor oven, and areas for educational development.
